What This Privacy Policy Covers
This policy covers how Compare Travel Quotes ("CTQ") treats information which personally identifies you (personal information) that CTQ collects and receives. The personal information we collect may include your name, address, phone number, or e-mail address. Once you provide CTQ with personal information, you are not anonymous to us.
There are several links from the CTQ Web site to third party information and service providers who may collect personal information from you in order to provide you with information or services. CTQ has no control over the privacy policy of any third party company, so please examine their privacy policy prior to submitting any personal information. This privacy policy only applies to the CTQ Web site.
Information Collection and Use
General
When you research CTQ vehicle values or vehicle pricing information, CTQ does not collect any personal information from you. CTQ does, however, collect some non-specific visitor information, such as ZIP Codes and vehicle data used to produce vehicle pricing reports, analyze the usage of the CTQ Web site, and customize online advertising and promotional offers.
CTQ collects personal information when you: request a Travel Quote from different agent. We may also receive personal information from you, for example when you: respond to a research survey with a marketing research supplier such as Harris Interactive or provide personal information in feedback comments.
When you visit CTQ pages, we may collect certain information about your visit from your browser, including the Internet Protocol (IP) address through which you access the Internet, the date and time you access the CTQ Web site, the pages that you access while at the CTQ Web site and the Internet address of the Web site from which you linked directly to the CTQ Web site, and CTQ cookie information. CTQ aggregates non-specific visitor information for statistical purposes, such as the production of the CTQ Blue Book Most Researched Cars list. This information is used to help improve the CTQ Web site, analyze trends, and administer the site.
CTQ uses your personal information for the following general purposes: to fulfill your requests for products and services, to contact you (if we have your permission), to customize the content and advertising you see, and to improve our services. CTQ uses aggregate and non-personal information to conduct research and to provide reports for CTQ business partners and customers.

CTQ does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:
When you elect to receive information from travel agents and/or from CTQ's valued partners (finance, insurance, etc.), CTQ will share your personal information only as you have elected.
When you request a Travel Quote, your personal information (including your contact information) may be forwarded by CTQ directly to the agent or may be provided by CTQ to a travel agent or to a trusted business partner that will forward your personal information to the agent; your personal information may also be forwarded by CTQ, the agent, the airlines or a trusted business partner to Experian Information Solutions, Inc., or R. L. Polk & Co., or another trusted data analysis service provider, for the purpose of verifying buyer purchase activity and reporting aggregate vehicle transaction data (excluding your personal information) to CTQ, the agent, the airlines, or a trusted business partner.
Advertisements served by DoubleClick, a third party Internet advertising technology company, appear on pages throughout the CTQ Web site. Some advertisements may request personal information directly from you or take you to Web sites that may request your personal information. CTQ has no control over its advertisers' privacy policies, so please examine the privacy policy of any company advertising on the CTQ Web site prior to submitting any personal information. In addition, DoubleClick or Revenue Science may place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser and may use information about your visits to the CTQ Web site and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. Please be aware that when you provide personal information to CTQ and authorize CTQ to share the information with a third party, your personal information becomes the property of CTQ and/or the third party. CTQ and/or the third party may use your personal information to process your request and provide valuable services. CTQ will only share your personal information with trusted third parties under a confidentiality agreement or similar arrangement that restricts the third party from sharing your personal information with others.
If you do not want your information to be used for marketing by CTQ and/or a third party, do not "opt in" or agree to such use when you provide your personal information through the CTQ Web site.
Please note that whenever you opt in to receive future communications from a third party, your information will be subject to the third party's privacy policy. If you later decide that you do not want that third party to use your information, you will need to contact the third party directly, as we have no control over how third parties use information. CTQ Web site content is also integrated into other Web sites. These Web sites may collect personal information from their visitors that may or may not be used in conjunction with the CTQ Web site content. CTQ utilizes various third party service providers (including Omniture, Revenue Science, Inc., TACODA), to track and analyze non-personally identifiable aggregate usage information from visitors in order to continuously improve the quality of the CTQ Web site. CTQ may set and access CTQ cookies on your computer. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard drive by a Web page server.
